Seminar Description

The Income Tax Management Act and associated local laws grant the Commissioner for Tax and Customs a range of investigative tools. This session aims to provide an overview of the pertinent legislative provisions derived from domestic law and EU tax directives in this area.

 During this session, participants will gain the necessary tools to understand:

  • The powers of the Commissioner for Tax and Customs in the context of tax audits.
  • The implications of information requests made under local tax legislation.

 With this foundation, the session will specifically explore:

  • Articles 10A, 13, and 14 of the Income Tax Management Act, Chapter 372 of the Laws of Malta.
  • Rules 4 to 10 of the Cooperation with other Jurisdictions on Tax Matters Regulations, Subsidiary Legislation 123.127.
  • Provisions for the exchange of information in double tax treaty agreements that Malta has with other states.
  • Key aspects of the Directive on Administrative Cooperation 2011/16/EU, as subsequently amended.

Qualifies for  2 CPE CORE hours under the core competency area.

Course Fee
