AML/CFT Regulatory Framework & the MLRO’s Duties & Responsibilities 28 January

The purpose of this course is to advise participants on the international and domestic AML/CFT regulatory framework that applies to Subject Persons (any legal or natural person) carrying out either relevant financial business or relevant activity. Subject Persons are required to employ a Money Laundering Reporting Officer (‘MLRO’), who will be responsible for the Subject Person’s compliance with AML/CFT regulations. In this regard, the course will enable participants to understand the MLRO’s role as well as his/her duties, amongst which is the duty to draft the Subject Person’s AML/CFT andbook (policies and procedures), which will serve as the Subject Person’s main document in its bid to comply with AML/CFT regulations.

By the end of the session, participants will be able to understand the regulatory requirements applicable to Subject Persons. They will also be able to prepare policies and procedures as required in terms of the AML/CFT regulations.
